General procedure: Under N2 atmosphere, a mixture of imidazolium salts 1 (0.22mmol), PdCl2 (0.2 mmol), K2CO3 (0.44 mmol) and benzo[h]quinoline 2 (0.22 mmol) was stirred in anhydrous THF (2.0 mL) at 50 or 90 C for 18 h.
